For many years, the Hall Wind Meter has been a popular Airspeed Indicator for hang gliders, paragliders and ultralights when used with one of our Mounting Brackets. The Hall Airspeed Indicator is mounted in the Bracket with the small tube at the bottom facing directly into the airflow. Airspeed is indicated by the red disc floating on the stainless steel rod.
The Hall Airspeed Indicator is an ideal airspeed indicator for hang gliders, paragliders, and ultralight aircraft. It never needs batteries. Available in Standard and Small sizes with your choice of calibrations.

Short Bracket
Our Short Bracket is used when there is a tube located near the pilot so that viewing the Indicator is convenient. The Short Bracket clamps to round tubing between 7/8" and 1-1/8" in diameter.

Long Bracket
Our Long Bracket is used when an extension is needed to place the Indicator in a more easily viewed position. The Long Bracket clamps to round tubing 1" to 1 1/2" in diameter or the commonly used sizes of streamlined down tubes on hang gliders.

Short Bracket for Streamlined Tubing
Our Short Bracket for Streamlined Tubing is used like the standard Short Bracket but will clamp to streamlined tubing.

Hang Glider Control Bar Wheels
These rugged 5 inch diameter Wheels feature a special flush mounting hub that clamps onto the control bar to keep the Wheels positioned and eliminate any wear on the bar. Made of tough and light ABS plastic. Fits 1 inch or 1 1/8 inch control bars. Please specify. Because of their small size and clean design, these Wheels are great for the intermediate and advanced pilots as well as students. As an optional service, we will drill one of each pair of hubs for the VG line. This service is available upon request at no extra charge.

Note: Either the Standard or the Small Hall Airspeed Indicator may be used in any of the above Brackets. Typically, the Small Hall Airspeed Indicator is used for paragliding (7 to 30 mph or 11 to 50 km/h). However, the Small Hall Airspeed Indicator, 7 to 70 mph and 11 to 100 km/h, are also used on hang gliders. Hang glider pilots often choose the Standard Hall Airspeed Indicator in the 7 to 55 mph range and the Long Bracket. Ultralights use either the 7 to 55 mph or the 7 to 80 mph Airspeed Indicators depending on their speed range.
